The Eleventh Hour

2021 | Original Oil and Mixed Media Painting

24 × 18 inches | Oil and mixed media on canvas

Early Works Collection, 2018–2024

The Eleventh Hour explores the passing of time and the importance of making the most of the moments we are given.

When I created this painting in 2021, I was fascinated by the concept of time, how quickly it passes, how easily we take it for granted, and how often we put things off believing there will always be another opportunity.

The fragmented clock represents time slipping away, its numbers breaking apart and falling as though the moments they represent can no longer be recovered.

The woman looks directly towards the viewer, inviting us to consider our own relationship with time and the choices we make about how we spend it.

For me, the painting was about recognising that life is happening now, rather than waiting for the perfect moment to begin living it.

Created during a period of artistic exploration, The Eleventh Hour reflects my interest in using symbolism and visual storytelling to express ideas and emotions that are not always easy to put into words.

An original oil painting from my Early Works Collection, offered unframed.
