Animal Guides

Animals have long been seen as companions, messengers and guides.

Across cultures and throughout history, encounters with animals have carried a sense of meaning. A fox crossing a quiet path, a bird arriving at a moment of decision, or a dog resting close in stillness can feel like more than coincidence.

These moments often stay with us. Not because they are dramatic, but because they feel quietly significant.

In my work, these encounters form the foundation of the God’s Rope series. Each meeting between human and animal becomes a thread, and over time these threads weave together into a larger story.

This page brings together the animals that appear within the series and explores the symbolic meanings often associated with them.

Why Animals Appear in Our Lives

Encounters with animals often happen at moments when we are already paying attention.

A quiet walk, a period of reflection, or a moment of uncertainty can heighten awareness of the world around us. When an animal appears in these moments, the experience can feel more meaningful.

Rather than viewing these encounters as fixed messages, they can be understood as moments of recognition.

Animals move through the world without the layers of interpretation that humans often carry. When we notice them, we are often noticing something within ourselves as well.

This is why the same encounter can feel deeply personal to one person and pass unnoticed by another.

The God’s Rope Series

The God’s Rope series is built on the idea that each encounter with an animal becomes a thread.

Over time, these threads begin to connect, forming a rope that represents a life shaped by these moments of recognition.

Dogs, foxes, birds, horses and other animals each contribute to this unfolding narrative.

They are not separate subjects, but part of a connected story.
