Original Mixed Media and Oil on Canvas | 24 × 18 inches
Freedom explores the relationship between our own values and the qualities we recognise in the animals we are drawn to.
A woman floats alongside a leopard, their forms intertwined through expressive colour, movement and abstraction.
I have always been fascinated by the wildness of big cats, their independence, strength and untamed spirit. When I created this painting, I was exploring my own love of freedom and the deep discomfort I felt at the thought of wild animals being deprived of theirs.
Through this painting, I wanted to express that shared longing for freedom, something I recognised in animals and valued deeply within myself.
