She wasn’t running.
She was returning.
There’s a quiet truth hidden in every heartbeat - and the horse hears it.
Not with ears, but with her entire being.
When I began painting Heart of a Horse, I didn’t plan the light that broke behind her. It simply arrived. The way grace often does - unannounced, but unmistakable.
This piece is part of my God’s Rope series - where golden threads, visible only to animals and the divine, connect us soul to soul.
Each brushstroke in this painting carries a silent prayer:
for freedom, for remembrance, for return.
The horse emerges from shadow not as something chased, but as something chosen. She holds the wind in her mane and the sunrise in her chest. Her eyes are soft, but ancient. She is not afraid of the dark - she’s carried light through it before.
What you see in her is also in you.
The yearning to be wild and whole.
The strength to face shadow without losing softness.
The golden thread - subtle, sacred, and unbreakable - that leads you back to your Creator.
